What is AmeriCorps VISTA?

AmeriCorps VISTA is a paid one-year service program that aims to build the capacity of public and non-profit organizations.  Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI) administers an AmeriCorps VISTA team dedicated to downtown revitalization.  AmeriCorps VISTAs live in communities to make connections between local businesses and local governments, develop innovative processes, conduct research, and develop promotional materials for their sites.



IMPORTANT DETAILS

DCI recruits AmeriCorps VISTAs in the spring and host sites in the fall.

2017-18 host sites include

 • City of Montrose   • Local First of La Plata County

 • City of Trinidad  •  Town of Buena Vista

 • City of Leadville           • DCI Main Office

 • Huerfano County   • Town of Limon

 • City of Manitou Springs   • City of Longmont DDA

AmeriCorps VISTA members with DCI typically have a background or interest in:

 • Urban Planning  • Sociology

 • Public Administration • Economics

 • Political Science  • Business                                                    

But anyone with a Bachelor's degree may apply!
