We know how difficult it can sometimes be to gather the necessary resources to get things done in your community. To that end, DCI offers a number of opportunities geared towards our members.
Here are some of the many services and events we provide that will help make YOUR work easier:
Technical Assistance Advisory Teams: From downtown assessments to facilitated discussions, DCI can help communities access consultants and experts who will help you find your way from planning to implementation.
DCI AmeriCorps VISTA Program: DCI can help your community by identifying and helping you access full time (40 hr/week) volunteers that could add much needed additional human resources for your organization. Recently we placed volunteers in Leadville, Buena Vista, Limon, Trinidad, Durango, Longmont, and are recruiting for many others communities throughout the state, including the City of Walsenburg. This is a great way to help your local governments or non-profit partners in Colorado. The approximate cost for 12 months of service from a VISTA will be $13,000.
Housing Strategy Workshops: DCI has been working with communities to bring stakeholders and resources (ie. CHFA, Div of Housing, Developers, etc.) together for discussions to identify important housing action items in a community and to help jump start housing initiatives.
Host a Downtown Institute Business Training Event: DCI can develop training events customized for your Main Street. We can help you educate and inform your small businesses, chambers of commerce, or other stakeholder groups while focusing on their specific needs. Currently, we have many requests for events that will include specific presentations, such as Small Business Thriving in an Amazon World; Considering Financing Mechanisms for Downtown and Creating Collaborative Marketing for Rural Communities. If you are a community that might benefit from any of the above or you know a community that might need our services, please help us connect by forwarding this email or sending contact information to Jamie Shapiro.
