In 2018, Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI) will once again partner with Colorado Municipal League (CML), Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck (BHFS), and our Colorado URA Sponsors to develop and share our Fourth Annual Urban Renewal Authority (URA) Board Training Series. The first event in the series will be May 11th in Fort Collins. The first session of our Fourth Annual URA Board Training will be held at in Fort Fort Collins on May 11th, from 8:00 AM-1:00PM and will include both 101 and 201 sessions to both educate individuals on the basics of urban renewal and also take the conversation further for more advanced urban renewal practice. Following the public training, there will be a private session for the Fort Collins URA Board.
Building an informed and aware board of directors for your URA creates a stronger network of urban renewal advocates across the state. This is especially important as many of our URAs are adapting to comply with recent legislation and to expand partner networks for urban renewal. DCI has received strong feedback that these sessions are helpful and necessary to broaden the understanding of urban renewal, tax increment financing, and the role of the board and staff in fostering quality redevelopment projects.
