Mark your calendars for Strong Town's Chuck Marohn on October 30!

Downtown Colorado, Inc., American Planning Association of Colorado, and the City of Lakewood are proud to bring Chuck Marohn, founder and president of Strong Towns, to Lakewood the evening of October 30, 2019 to kick off the Strong America Tour! Strong Towns is a national organization dedicated to community development that celebrates resilience, incremental change, adaptation, citizen engagement, and making decisions based on current finances and neighborhood needs.

After noticing that America’s national system of development and growth was fundamentally broken and resulting in communities going deep into debt, Mr. Marohn founded Strong Towns in 2008. What began as a blog promoting a model of development that allows America’s towns to become financially strong and resilient, has blossomed into an award-winning international nonprofit with thousands of subscribers and chapters throughout America. This event will allow community leaders and citizens to select their own topic from a range of focus areas touched on in Mr. Marohn’s forthcoming book, “Strong Towns: A Bottom-Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity”, which offers a new vision of urban development in the United States.

Mr. Marohn is a licensed Professional Engineer and land use planner with over two decades of experience. He is the lead author of Thoughts of Building Strong Towns Volume 1Volume 2, and Volume 3 and wrote A World Class Transportation System, and in 2017, Mr. Marohn was named one of the Top 10 Most Influential Urbanists of All Time by Planetizen.
